Charlie Bates Cottage is ideally located in the small Kangaroo Island townschip of Penneshaw, the gateway to Kangaroo Island. The Sealink ferry to KI leaves from Cape Jervis which is about 100 - 120 minutes drive from Adelaide's CBD.
